Humane Education Campaign is anniversary “gift” to Elvis
It’s exciting to announce that the Humane Association of Georgia (HAGA) has been licensed by Elvis Presley Enterprises (EPE) to use a 1956 breakout year official photograph of Elvis and his Hound Dog from Graceland's Photo Library for a Georgia wide animal advocacy and humane education campaign. "Don't Be Cruel-Love Me Tender" is an upbeat campaign, appropriate for "kids" of all ages. These two famous song titles "Don't Be Cruel" and "Love Me Tender" will be displayed along with Elvis' photo on t-shirts, posters, bookmarks, dog tags, etc., and will be available to all groups in Georgia that are involved with companion animals. HAGA’s partner in this campaign is the Georgia Center for Humane Education (GCHE), www.human-animalbond.org.The world lost Elvis 35 years ago and humane animal organizations need to remind everyone of his love for animals, especially his horses and dogs. He was quoted as saying, “Dog is just God spelled backwards."The main message is to remind people not to be cruel to animals, but neuter their companion animals, take them along during disasters, tag and microchip them--its their ticket home, and report animal cruelty to local law enforcement immediately. The “King” would be proud to be a part of this important cause, spreading tender love to animals.
