BARK - Be Aware, Responsible, Kind
To keep our children safe and allow them to enjoy animal companions, we offer age appropriate learning modules.  The BARK program teaches that all of us must take responsibility for our pet.  We use DVDs and worksheets with games and checklists to engage the children. (Worksheets also available in Spanish.)

Share the World: Everyone Matters
To help students better understand and appreciate the animals with which we share our world. The program promotes compassion and empathy for animals while allowing students to practice their reading, writing, and math skills.  
  • The Amazing World of Animals looks at how we differ from animals and how we’re alike.
  • Animals and Their Feelings addresses the concept that animals do have feelings and why all animals should be treated with respect and compassion.
  • Changing Times, Changing Minds looks at how the use of animals in work and research continues to be reduced.
  • Making Humane Choices extends the Golden Rule to our relationships with animals
  • Touching stories about animals helping other animals or people.  Could open discussion about animals they’ve heard about in the news or from others.

Red Rover Readers
To encourage critical thinking that leads students to their own conclusions regarding animal welfare. This program helps students share information about animals, reflect on the roles of animals in their communities and determine our responsibilities toward them.

Ethical Choices
To understand factory farms and how they affect the environment, animals and human health. The program seeks to help students find answers for themselves.  The program contributes to sustainable living, healthier bodies, and a more compassionate society.

International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW)
IFAW offers a wild life program that focuses on one animal each year. Elephants, Never Forget, the 2012 program, encourages students to examine and discuss the challenges that threaten the survival of the elephant and the impact they have on our world.  This engaging program includes creative activities for all age groups.

Maddie’s Tail Wag
To teach responsibility, empathy and the benefits of animal companionship while youngsters work on basics like shapes, colors and numbers with Maddie and her cartoon friends.  Printable workbooks and worksheets available in English and Spanish for teachers.
