Comic opens club to cause
Did you hear the one about longtime local comic Jerry Farber? He has opened a new nightclub, Jerry Farber's Side Door, next to The Landmark Diner at 3652 Roswell Rd. The specialty is the Jerry Farburger, billed as a "gluten-free, hormone-free, cage-free, free-range, sustainable, shade-grown and free-trade certified veggie burger."  “My act may kill, but our food doesn't have to," Farber quipped. "I die all the time up on stage. I don't want anyone dying at their table of a heart attack!" In keeping with all that philosophy the club will host an evening benefiting the Georgia Center for Humane Education, an animal safety and advocacy group. The event will be 7 to 10 p.m. March 24 and will feature a cash bar, silent auction and yes, veggie burgers. Tickets are $25. See JerryFarbersSideDoor.com for information
