GCHE teachers continue to partner with
at Kennedy Middle School in Atlanta.
GCHE and HSUS volunteer teachers are presenting an 8 week course, Canines and Communities, that includes a visit to Fulton County Animal Services and multi-media student projects.

GCHE Teacher, Andrea Appel, was selected by United Animal Nations to be trained in the Humane Education Ambassador Reader (HEAR) program. This unique community-bases literacy program is aligned with academic content standards and helps children explore the bond between people and animals through stories an discussion, helping children develop critical thinking skills and empathy. GCHE will be able to provide programming for unique recipients with Andrea' training.

 Red Rover Readers

So far, in the 2010/11 school year, GCHE teachers presented programs to students in Dekalb and Fulton Counties, City of Atlanta, and several summer camps. Programs have included Responsibility for Pets, Safety around Animals, Careers with Animals, and Canines & Communities (see above).
